For those of you who have been wondering what I have been up to, I will sum it up in one word KOHANA! I migrated the entire site over to Kohna 2.1 (K2) from CodeIgniter (CI), Kohana for those of you who might not have heard of K2, it is a php5 framework originally based on CI... and it absolutely ROCKS!!!!!
Kohana is a PHP 5 framework that uses the Model View Controller architectural pattern. It aims to be secure, lightweight, and easy to use.

- Uses the MVC pattern
- 100% UTF-8 compatible
- Loosely coupled architecture
- Extremely easy to extend
The decision was made after a review of several other frameworks including Zends', K2 won out mainly because fo its abilty to easily integrate other libraries including Zends', not to metion it's tiny footprint when compared to Zends'. The downside is that K2 is strictly PHP 5 which rules out the possibilty 'Joomedit' php4 compatibility, SORRY FOLKS.
