Joomedit

RIA desktop editor for Joomla CMS: (edit, publish, upload from your desktop)!

Introduction

Joomedit is a desktop based Joomla content manager built in Adobe Flex/ Air 3, it is designed to allow you to manage Joomla content from a sleek and freindly browser independant desktop user interface it currently supports Joomla 1.0.13 and 1.50. The alpha (current) release supports Rich Text editing with XTHML support using TinyMCE, quick and easy image upload and management (video and audio support soon), plugin support, mutiple site management and more.

Requirements

  • System requirements: JoomEdit is a cross platform Adobe Air app runs on both windows and mac!
  • Download and install Adobe Runtime (required) here>>
  • Server running Php 5.2 or later.

Installation

  1. Unzip the download archive run the joomedit.air to install the file* (you must have the Adobe Air runtime installed on your system).
  2. Go to your Joomla admin > Global Configuration > Database and make note of you DB Settings.
  3. Open the SSymbio folder go the the applications directory > config folder > open- config.php.
    • Line 14: base_url :- enter the location of url to your ssymbio floder ( http://www.myjoomlasite.com/ssymbio/ ).
    • Line 227: sess_table_name:- default (ss_sessions) change to suit it if you desire.
  4. Open file database.php
    • Line 51: Enter the DB settings you noted in step 2.
  5. Open the joomla_config.php
    1. Line 3: db_prefix the default is jos_ :
    2. Line 9: joomla joom_imgdir path (../images/stories/ ).
    3. Line 10: joomla_imgurl ( http://www.joomlasites.com/images/stories/ )
  6. Install / add table ss_obsessions.sql to your database, I use phpmyadmin to add tables to my database!
  7. Open your browser and point it to your "http://www.joomlasite.com/ssymbio/index.php/joomremote/" (replace joomlasite with your site name) once you see articles results in you browser then it ago, if not check over all the config settings again.
